2 Killed In 3-Car Pileup on State Road 52, Cobblestone Drive

BAYONET POINT, FL — Two people were killed and three were injured in a three-vehicle crash on State Road 52 Tuesday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 8:53 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 52 and Cobblestone Drive.

A 62-year-old woman from Hudson was headed east on State Road 52 when she turned at Cobblestone Drive into the path of a sports utility vehicle that was headed west on SR 52.

The SUV, driven by a 59-year-old man from New Port Richey, then collided with another SUV that was headed south on Cobblestone Drive and had stopped at the intersection of SR 52.

The 62-year-old woman driving the car and her 54-year-old male passenger from Port Richey died at the scene.

The 59-year-old driver of the SUV and his 79-year-old female passenger, also from New Port Richey, suffered minor injuries as did the 48-year-old driver of the second SUV from Hudson.
