4-Year-Old Girl Dies Following New Port Richey Crash
The little girl died on Sunday following the April 24 accident on U.S. 19.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 4-year-old girl injured in an April 24 crash on U.S. 19 near Marine Parkway has died from her injuries. According to the New Port Richey Police Department, the child died on Sunday, May 1.
The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. April 24 as a black 2004 Ford F150 pickup truck was heading north on U.S. 19 approaching Marine Parkway. Police said driver Kevin Brock of New Port Richey struck the rear end of a 2011 Hyundai Elantra driven by Ciera Brown of Brooksville. Brown, an email from the police department said, was stopped for a red light just ahead of the Ford.
“Just as the light changed to green, the F-150 struck the rear of the Elantra,” the email said. “Two children (ages 4 and 10), who both were sitting in the backseat of the Elantra, were airlifted by helicopter to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital due to severe injuries.”

An adult passenger and a 5-year-old child were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph’s, police said. Brown was driven by a family member to the hospital.
Brock, who was not injured in the crash, was cited for careless driving. Police say alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in the crash.

No further details are available at this time. It is unclear if Brock will face additional charges.
