91-Year-Old Woman Dies In Crash On State Road 54

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 91-year-old New Port Richey woman died Saturday night following a crash on State Road 54 and Old Millpond Drive.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was driving her car on SR 54 at 11:15 p.m. and stopped at the stop sign at Old Millpond Drive. She then proceeded into the intersection where her car was struck by an eastbound pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old girl from New Port Richey.

The car spun onto the shoulder, collided with a fence and was propelled into a pond.

The teen received minor injuries.

Due to Marsy's Law, approved by Florida voters in 2018 to protect the identities of crime victims, the Florida Highway Patrol has chosen to no longer release the names of those involved in traffic accidents.
