Update: Another Depression Opens Up in Holiday Area

The southbound lane of Bailies Bluff Road is now open Anclote River Park.

Update Nov. 14, 4:21 p.m.: Pasco County reports that Bailies Bluff Road is now open.

Pasco County has confirmed that another depression has opened up in Holiday.

This time the hole is located at 1119 Bailies Bluff Road, near Anclote River Park. The county received a call about the depression just after noon Friday. The sheriff’s office is on the scene and bridge and road has been notified, Pasco spokesman Doug Tobin wrote in an email to media.

The county’s road and bridge crew has been notified. At this time, the southbound lane is closed.

“We will have our geotechnical firm look at the depression to determine exactly why the hole formed,” Tobin said.

This is the third depression to open up in Holiday over the last week. The first two are located along Torch Street.
