Arson Sparked Storage Unit Fire, Authorities Say

The blaze broke out early Monday morning.

An early Monday morning fire that ripped through 40 units at Extra Space Storage in Holiday is being blamed on arson.

According to Pasco County spokesman Doug Tobin, fire rescue received a call about the fire at 3118 U.S. 19 around 1:30 a.m. Units were on the scene within five minutes, quickly bringing the blaze under control.

A total of 19 units responded to the scene, working to prevent flames from spreading to the facility’s other 60 storage units, Tobin noted.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 813-929-2750. A cash reward for information leading to an arrest is possible, Tobin noted.
