Batteries Plus is a nationwide chain of stories that specialize in replacement batteries for consumer electronics and assorted vehicles. They also carry an extensive line of lights bulbs for any application. The company began operations in Green Bay Wisconson in 1988.
Barron, who purchased the franchise for the New Port Richey store, was selling pharmaceuticals in South Dakota when he began his research on Batteries Plus. The more he researched the company’s growth and revenues, the more convinced he became that this was the right company for him.

“I got into this because I believe in the company, and I wanted to sell a product that everyone needs,” Barron said.
Batteries Plus has 490 stores nationwide, with 90 more stores set to open in the near-future. The company’s corporate research division determined that New Port Richey was a prime market for a new location.
The store was formerly occupied by a Taco Bell and China One restaurant. The facility has undergone a complete remodeling, and it is well-organized, bright and user-friendly for the consumer.
Barron apologized for the covered-up sign in the front of the building. He says the new sign will be up shortly.
Batteries are available for many electronic devices, as well as truck and car batteries.
A huge selection of light bulbs, including eco-friendly bulbs are available.
“We are a one-stop shop for any battery or light bulb you may need, for any application,” Barron said.
Like other Batteries Plus branches, the new store has at its disposal a device called a battery analyzer. This is an all-in-one machine that tests and analyzes worn-down laptop computer batteries. The machine then revitalizes the battery and brings it back to like new condition.
“We will test and analyze any battery for free. If the customer wants the battery revitalized, the cost is only $20. That’s better than paying $100 for a new one,” said Barron.
In order to become battery and light bulb experts, Barron and Assistant Manager Frank Pandolfino traveled to the Batteries Plus corporate training center in Heartland, Wis., for three weeks of specialized, comprehensive battery and light bulb training.
“When you shop here, you get one-on-one service," Barron said. "All of our products are put through quality assurance tests. When you purchase batteries online, you don’t know what you are getting.”
Batteries Plus is located at 5644 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey.
