Boy, 13, Arrested For Middle-School Robbery

The young suspect, on probation from Pinellas County, is accused of punching a student to steal a backpack, cell and headphones.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – A 13-year-old middle school student was arrested for strong-arm robbery Wednesday after allegedly punching a classmate and stealing a backpack before classes began at River Ridge Middle School in New Port Richey, according to the Pasco Sheriff's Office.

The victim from the school on Town Center Road eventually found his backpack, however his cell phone and headphones were missing.

Deputies said the phone was found in the suspect's possession and returned to the victim and his father.

The teen suspect "has an extensive history in Pinellas County and has only been in Pasco a few months and already has a history for domestic battery on Sept. 14," the agency said. His "history includes armed robbery and numerous felonious thefts. (He) is currently on probation from Pinellas."
