Classical Guitarist Brings Musical Fusion to Local Library
Native American Guitarist Gabriel Ayala plays in Free Concert Saturday

Gabriel Ayala, an award-winning guitarist, is coming to New Port Richey.
On Saturday night, he will give a free concert at the on Main Street.
Ayala fuses classical, jazz, tango and flamenco music with his own compositions to create something unique.

Both a performer and a teacher, Ayala has been making music all his life. He has recorded three solo albums and was featured on various other releases over his career.
In the past he has received the Native American Music Award for "Best Instrumental CD" and the Canadian Aboriginal Music Award for "Best World Music." He has also shared the stage with artists like The Four Tops and The Temptations. His latest recording is "Passion, Fire and Grace" which showcases a fusion of jazz and flamenco to create a genre that Gabriel calls "JazzMenco."

A member of the Yaqui people of Arizona, Ayala holds a masters degree in musical performance from the University of Arizona.
Due to his busy touring schedule, Ayala can currently only find time to teach masterclasses he said. In the past he has taught at all levels from elementary school to college and he still hopes he can inspire the next generation through his music. "
"With perseverance, anything is attainable in life," Ayala said. "I'm living proof of this."
