Cops: Drunk-Driving Mom Turned In By Young Son

The 11-year-old and his friends are reported to have bailed out of her car before calling police.

A 45-year-old Gainesville woman faces a host of charges after police say the four children she was transporting jumped out of her car and notified authorities that she was under the influence.

The incident unfolded Tuesday night after four 11-year-olds, including the woman’s own son, ran into a Steak ‘n Shake claiming the woman was drunk and they were in fear of riding with her, according to News4Jax.com.

“It was like a little girl screaming for help,” the station quoted Kenisha Drayton, a witness to the incident, as saying. “We really didn’t see what was going on, but all we heard was someone screaming.”

When police arrived, they determined Angela Woodworth was indeed impaired, according to the NY Post. A search of her car turned up about 2 grams of marijuana and a pipe, News4Jax reported.

Woodworth was ultimately charged with four felony counts of marijuana possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, child neglect and resisting an officer, among other counts.

Woodworth’s son was turned over to relatives, while his friends, a boy and two girls, were turned over to the parents, News4Jax reported.
