DUI Checkpoint Announced For Holiday
The Pasco County Sheriff's Office has plans to conduct a DUI checkpoint in the Holiday area this weekend.

Holiday, FL — Motorists considering celebrating the weekend with a few drinks too many may want to designate a driver.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office has announced it intends to conduct a DUI checkpoint on Friday, June 24 from 11 p.m. until 1 p.m. The checkpoint will be conducted in the area of Mile Stretch Drive, the agency reported on Facebook.
“This DUI checkpoint is part of the enhanced effort to apprehend impaired drivers and to bring attention to the dangers of driving impaired,” the sheriff’s office explained.

In 2015 alone, there were more than 300 alcohol- and/or drug-related crashes in Pasco County, the agency noted. Those caught impaired behind the wheel face jail time, fines, increased insurance rates and other expenses. All told, a DUI can cost more than $10,000.
