About the artist:
Betty comes from a large family which struggled financially. Determined to better her situation, Betty managed to put herself through school by sheer determination and the assistance of scholarships. She graduated from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio with a Master’s in Fine Arts and Education. Betty taught art in inner city schools in Dayton for 25 years and was honored as an outstanding teacher throughout her career.Today, she will be showing us how to create a keepsake or special gift by altering a found book.Betty, now retired, is as busy as ever sharing her knowledge with others and participating in Altered Minds – surface design, the Doll Club of New Port Richey, Fabric Design in St. Pete and a painting group which meets at Beacon Woods in New Port Richey.
