Friday Film Series: Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis”

The library's Teen Advisory Board presents a month of silent-film gems, each beginning with a Buster Keaton short.

Tonight, enjoy Fritz Lang's 1927 film "Metropolis," considered the first modern science-fiction film. The film was heavily edited upon release, and its cut footage was considered lost. A complete cut of the film was discovered in 2008 in a film museum in Argentine, but some of the missing shots remain beyond restoration.
