GULFSIDE REGIONAL HOSPICE TO HOST VETERANS AUTHOR DEBORAH GRASSMAN THIS JUNE

Don’t miss the opportunity to hear author, Deborah Grassman, speak about her book Peace at Last on Monday, June 4 presented by Gulfside Regional Hospice.

In her presentation, Grassman depicts the overt story of combat veterans seeking peace after returning home from war, as well as highlight the more subtle themes of her book including peace at the end of life and cultivating peace in our relationships. She will also inspire participants to not only seek healing in their lives, but also provide them some tools for how to do so.

The presentation, scheduled for 12 noon at the Holiday United Church of Christ at 4826 Bartelt Road in Holiday, is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served.

Deborah Grassman is a Nurse Practitioner at Bay Pines VAMC in St. Petersburg, Fla. She has been with the VA for 26 years and has been the director of the hospice program at the VA for the last 15 years. She is a featured speaker at hospice and VA conferences throughout the United States and has published numerous articles on providing hospice care to veterans. She pioneered identifying the effects of past trauma on the quality of a person’s dying process, as well as ways to effectively respond to issues that surface at the end of life. She is the author of the book, Peace at Last: Stories of Hope and Healing for Veterans and their Families.
