Kyrja's Front Porch Yule Gift

I like to read.  I LOVE to read.  And I love to share stories with others.  Dr. Suess was much the same.  There is a program called “Reading Across America” which celebrates his birthday by having lots of kids from lots of different schools read aloud in class.  Sometimes the schools bring in celebrities or famous people to read in classrooms.  Sometimes parents do the reading.

As a Yule gift to the community, I would like to invite any and all to our home to share a story or two.  This will not be a performance of Rupert’s Tales and Tunes, with prizes, games and costumes; it will be a bit lower-key than that.  I will, however, read “Rupert’s Longest Night” and another tale from one of Rupert’s books which will be released next year.

This is not a sales event, it is a gift.  There are many who cannot attend festivals for one reason or another.  I would like to simply take a little bit of time to just stop and read to anyone who would like to join us.  You might even find this would be a good time to bring someone along who doesn’t understand what “Yule” is or why we celebrate it.

Please be aware of the weather.  Although I expect this day will be a fabulously perfect day, it may still be a bit chilly.  It is my intention to sit on the front porch and share stories for a little while.  Perhaps a song or an Om or two.  Please bring your chair(s).  All ages are welcome to join us for this Yule gift.

If you are able to bring a non-perishable for the Brooksville Food Pantry, we’ll make sure they get it.  And you’re always encouraged to bring dead household batteries to all Rupert events so we can recycle them for you.

Hope to see you there!

Kyrja

p.s.  Please park on the North side of the house, on Virginia Avenue or on adjining streets, but not on Washington Street.  Thank you.
