IN HONOR OF APRIL AS NATIONAL POETRY MONTH
THE PEAG FIFTH ANNUAL POETRY CONTEST
April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate Progress Energy Art Gallery is holding its Fifth Annual Poetry Contest. Judges: Fran Durler and Eric Foster Rhodes. A First, Second and Third place winner will be chosen, as well as any Honorable Mentions at the judges’ discretion. Cash prizes and Gallery Memberships will be awarded. All winners will receive a signed certificate suitable for framing, and the winning poems will be published on the PEAG website. The First Place winning poem will be framed and placed on the gallery’s Poet’s Wall alongside the prior contests winning poems.

GUIDELINES:

- Entry fee is $3 per poem, or two poems for $5.
- No limit on number of entries
- Poems can be any style but must not exceed 40 lines in length.
- Poems must be typewritten. (Please do not send your only original)
- Poems must be typed one per page.
- Title of the poem must appear at the top of the entry
- DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR ENTRIES so judging is completely anonymous.
- Make sure this entry form has your name and poem titles clearly printed
- Entries must be received by: Monday, April 9, 2012
- Awards ceremony will be held at the gallery on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.
- Send entries and check, or submit in person, to Progress Energy Art Gallery.
- Entries must include the attached completed and signed entry form.
