Reigning Purple at the Progress Energy Gallery! The Quilter's Crossing Guild and several prominent local artists present their work featuring various shades of purple! Each year, the guild presents it's members with an art challenge. For this year's quilt challenge, the members designed and created wall quilts with the theme: “ The Passion Within”, where each member is to illustrate the their own personal passion. The quilts are designed and created following predetermined requirements such as size limits, embellishments and techniques. Each quilt will include specific purple fabric, chosen because of the association between purple and passion. On display will also be works of local artists featuring various shadesof purple! You will be amazed to see how the artists, using a variety of media, apply their creativity featuring the color purple.
