Update: U.S. 19 in the Bayonet Point Area Open Following Gas Leak

Some business evacuations also took place.

Update Nov. 21, 11:10 a.m.: Pasco County is reporting fast work by emergency crews on the scene of this morning’s gas leak. County spokesman Doug Tobin said U.S. 19 is now open and that TECO has shut off the gas.

Pasco County Fire Rescue and the Sheriff’s Office are working a propane gas leak in the Bayonet Point area.

According to county spokesman Doug Tobin, the leak is in the area of 11832 U.S. 19, south of State Road 52. As emergency crews handle the leak, southbound U.S. 19 is being shutd own, Tobin said.

Some businesses in the area are also being evacuated.

No injuries have been reported.
