George Zimmerman Involved in Road Rage Incident, Cops Say

A motorist has accused him of threatening to kill him and then showing up outside his place of work a few days later.

George Zimmerman is making headlines again.

This time the 30-year-old has been accused of threatening to kill a motorist and then showing up outside his place of employment two days later, according to ABC News. The driver, however, declined pressing charges when asked to do so by police in Lake Mary, Fla.

Zimmerman is the neighborhood watch captain who was acquitted in 2013 in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. He faced second-degree murder charges in that highly publicized case that called Florida’s Stand Your Ground Law into question. Zimmerman’s defense never cited Stand Your Ground in the case.

The latest incident began on Tuesday when Zimmerman is accused of accosting a driver and threatening to kill him. The man called police when he recognized Zimmerman. But, by the time police arrived, Zimmerman was long gone.

On Thursday, the same man told police he saw Zimmerman inside his truck outside his place of employment, CBS reported.

Police came out to the work location and confirmed it was Zimmerman inside the truck, ABC said.

Officer Bianca Gillett was quoted by ABC as saying the motorist was β€œin fear of having encountered the vehicle a second time.”

It is unclear what sparked the initial incident between the two motorists. No charges have been filed in the case.

Zimmerman has had a few brushes with the law since his 2013 acquittal mostly related to domestic issues and traffic violations.
