Hispanic First Responder Award Presented To Pasco Sheriff's Deputy

A Pasco County sheriff's deputy has been honored with a 2022 Viva Tampa Bay Hispanic Heritage Distinguished First Responder Award.

Cpl. Rich Ortiz is an integral member of the sheriff's Community Engagement team. Along with his partner, animal-assisted therapy K9 Mango, he helps the sheriff's office maintain strong relationships with those it serves.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — A Pasco County sheriff's deputy has been honored with a 2022 Viva Tampa Bay Hispanic Heritage Distinguished First Responder Award.

Cpl. Rich Ortiz is an integral member of the sheriff's Community Engagement team. Along with his partner, animal-assisted therapy K9 Mango, he helps the sheriff's office maintain strong relationships with those it serves.

Ortiz is also a member of PSO’s Critical Incident Stress Management and Hostage Negotiation teams, and was part of the Behavioral Health Intervention Team prior to his current assignment.

Additionally, Sheriff Chris Nocco was honored as the Distinguished Amigo at the same ceremony.
