Hit-And-Run Crash In Holiday Kills 77-Year-Old Man In Wheelchair

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run accident on Moog Road Monday that killed a man in an electric wheelchair.

HOLIDAY, FL — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a hit-and-run accident on Moog Road Monday that left a 77-year-old man in an electric wheelchair dead.

At 12:25 p.m. Monday, Larry Robert Small of Holiday was heading across Moog Road at the intersection of Pinehurst Drive in a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. Small died at the scene.

A few hours later, troopers located a 1991 Dodge minivan at a home near to the crash scene. After securing a warrant, the minivan was seized as evidence. The registered owner and person-of-interest involved in this case is a 90-year-old resident who has been cooperative with investigators.
