It was the first Saturday of the , and the parade was in full swing. We were walking up Main Street to find a place for lunch when we realized we were in between two legs of the parade route. I always wanted to try , and fate determined that I should.
The dining room is light and airy, considering that the décor is dark, and is elegant in its simplicity. The black wooden tables and chairs, dark floor and walls are offset with white and gold table linens and lighted from huge windows across the front of the room.
We were greeted by a hostess in the bar and shown to a table in a dining room in which we were the only customers. Not for long, but it was fun having three waitresses lavishing us with their attention until other diners appeared.

Because of the fiesta, Juan’s offered a special menu. But the selections were ample, including sandwiches as well as luncheon entrées. I ordered a Cuban pressed sandwich, which was crispy to the touch and overflowing with ham, pork, cheese and their excellent dressing. The accompanying french fries were crispy and very tasty. Two of my companions had the pulled pork entrée. This was accompanied by black beans and saffron rice. My fourth companion ordered the barbecued pork sandwich, which was also delicious. Before we were leaving I noticed another table being served the breaded pork cutlet sandwich. It was absolutely huge (easily enough for two) and looked crispy and delicious.
Juan’s offers outdoor dining on a very comfortable veranda and has a full bar.
