Intelligence-Led Policing Results In 74 Percent Fewer Burglaries

Since the ILP program was implemented in 2011, residential burglaries in Pasco County have declined more 74 percent.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Pasco Sheriff's Office Intelligence-Led Policing analysts discovered intelligence that led to solving a burglary spree in New Port Richey's Rowan Road corridor.

During the last month, four residential burglaries were reported in the Citrus Grove Mobile Home Park where electronics, bicycles and checkbooks were stolen.

Four residential and business burglaries were also reported in the Colony Cove Mobile Home Park in which an SUV, motorcycle, golf cart, kayaks, guitars, power tools and electronics were stolen.

In addition, one grand theft was reported in Cypress Knoll where a trailer and new zero-turn riding mower were stolen.

With the assistance of the analysts, the stolen motorcycle was located in Elfers on Aug. 5 and the stolen SUV was located in Elfers on Aug. 6. The driver and passenger of the SUV were both arrested.

The driver, Nathan Mitchell, 36, of New Port Richey was charged with two counts of residential burglary, two counts of business burglary, two counts of grand theft auto and grand theft.

The passenger, Jennifer Collins, 49, of Zephyrhills was charged with uttering stolen checks, identity theft and retail theft.

Mitchell and Collins also provided information that led to the recovery of the zero-turn riding mower in Wesley Chapel.
