Man Fatally Shot Trying To Break Into Pasco County Apartment: Police

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A man was fatally shot Tuesday while attempting to break into a New Port Richey apartment, according to Pasco County authorities.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office said the shooting happened Tuesday at the Trinity Palms at Seven Springs apartments in New Port Richey.

Authorities said the man was carrying a weapon while attempting to break into the apartment, and he was shot by a person inside the home.

Authorities said there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
