Man’s Death In Community Pool Under Investigation
Pasco County Sheriff's deputies say the 22-year-old man was found unresponsive in the New Port Richey pool Saturday morning.

New Port Richey, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 22-year-old man found in a New Port Richey area community pool Saturday morning.
According to the agency, the man was found unresponsive in a pool at 7510 Winpole Drive. When deputies arrived, they pulled the man from the water and began lifesaving efforts, an email from the agency said. Those efforts were continued by Pasco firefighters, but the man could not be revived, the email said.
According to the sheriff’s office, its preliminary investigation indicates the drowning was accidental. Drugs and alcohol, the agency noted, are believed to have played roles in the death.

The investigation, however, remains active. The man’s name has not yet been released.
