New Port Richey Fight Escalates Into Gunfire, Attack With Machete
A 28-year-old man has been charged with aggravated battery after attacking another man with a machete.
NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 28-year-old man has been charged with aggravated battery after attacking another man with a machete.
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, around 5 p.m. Friday, deputies received a call about a shooting in the area of State Road 52 and Little Road in New Port Richey.
They discovered that two men had gotten into a fight and Naquan Crawford of Bayonet Point struck the other man several times with a machete, hitting the side of his head, his left hand and his chest. The other man then fired a .380-caliber handgun at Crawford, striking him three times.

Both men told deputies they reacted in self-defense. They were taken to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
