New Port Richey Man Crashes GMC Yukon Into Wells Fargo Bank
The 48-year-old man suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the SUV he was driving.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 48-year-old New Port Richey survived after crashing his 2001 GMC Yukon into the Wells Fargo bank at 6013 State Road 54 Thursday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 6:44 a.m. the man was driving south on Madison Street approaching State Road 54 when he suffered a medical emergency and lost control of the sport utility vehicle.
The Yukon entered the east shoulder of the road where it collided with a sign flag owned by The Original Barbershop, continued southeast through a grass field and ran over several bushes adjacent to a parking lot before colliding with the exterior wall of an unoccupied Wells Fargo bank.

The driver was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown, but troopers said his injuries from the crash are minor.
