New Port Richey Woman Killed in Crash

The accident happened Wednesday afternoon at State Road 52 and Point Boulevard.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — A 77-year-old New Port Richey woman is dead following a Wednesday afternoon crash on State Road 52.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman, who has not yet been identified, was driving a Ford Taurus on Point Boulevard just after 2 p.m. The woman stopped, facing north on Point Boulevard, at the intersection of State Road 52. At that time, a Chrysler 300 driven by Christopher Rivenburg, 39, of Hudson was heading east on State Road 52 in the center lane nearing the intersection.

The Taurus, a highway patrol report said, attempted to turn left onto State Road 52 and crossed the path of Rivenburg’s Chrysler. The two vehicles collided.

The woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene, the patrol said.

Rivenburg suffered minor injuries and was taken to Bayonet Point Hospital for treatment.

No charges were filed.
