There are more than 200,000 residents ages 65 and up living in Pasco County who are eligible to receive a first and second dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
Those who are able to get a vaccination appointment this Sunday will have a choice of getting their vaccination next week at the following times and drive-thru clinic locations:
- Saint Leo University on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (2,700 appointments are available).
- The vacant Sears building at Gulf View Square mall, 9409 U.S. 19, Port Richey, Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (2,400 appointments are available).
DOH-Pasco will not provide vaccinations at either location on Saturday, Feb. 20, or Sunday, Feb. 21.
Currently, there are more than 200,000 seniors ages 65 and up living in Pasco County who have not been vaccinated. Many of these residents will be online or calling in Sunday in the hopes of snagging one of the 5,100 appointments.
In addition, residents ages 65 and older living in other counties are allowed to obtain vaccination appointments in any Florida county. Many of these seniors also will try to get an appointment in Pasco County.
Likewise, Pasco County seniors have the options to try to get appointments in other counties that use the CDR Maguire patient portal or use the state of Florida's vaccination system available My Florida Vaccine.
Like the CRD Maguire system, residents need to preregister through the state system to set up an appointment for a vaccine. But the big difference is you can get on a waiting list for a vaccine at My Florida Vaccine. The DOH-Pasco currently has no waiting list.
Additionally, residents can register through Publix, Walmart or Winn Dixie.
"I would suggest trying each approach until an appointment is secured," Bilirakis said.
Publix and Walmart/Sam’s Club will have locations in Hillsborough, Pasco, and Pinellas counties, while Winn-Dixie has sites only in Hillsborough and Pasco counties.
The state now has a vaccination locator website that allows residents to see where vaccines are being administered around the state. Just type in your county or city to find the nearest vaccination sites.

Other Ways To Get Vaccinated
Additionally, a limited number of vaccines have been distributed to BayCare Health System hospitals, AdventHealth hospitals and Tampa General Hospital. If you are already registered as a patient at any of these hospitals, contact them to find out if you qualify to receive a vaccine.
CVS and Walgreens have been contracted through a federal program to administer COVID-19 vaccines to staff and residents of nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Once this program is completed, CVS and Walgreens said it will begin to offer vaccines to other eligible residents.
As part of his statewide vaccination plan, DeSantis plans to offer vaccination clinics at churches in underserved communities. The governor also plans to set up mobile clincis to vaccinate home-bound residents. Patch will notify the public when these services are available.
The federal government has also contracted with Suncoast Community Health Centers and Tampa Family Health Centers to offer vaccines to current patients. There are seven Suncoast Community Health clinics located in Hillsborough County and one in Lakeland. There are 14 Tampa Family Health Centers in Hillsborough County.
Eventually, doctor's offices and retirement communities will receive vaccines. DOH-Pasco encourages residents to reach out to them as well.
After You Get An Appointment
You are required to show a photo I.D. (driver's license or other valid Florida identification) when checking in for all vaccination appointments.
If the online patient portal was used to register for an appointment (instead of calling), those people should bring a printed or digital copy of the confirmation email they receive containing a QR code.
Appointment vertification emails will be sent from CDR Maguire and will be titled no reply@cdrmhealth.com or noreply@salesforce.com. Check your spam folder for these emails from CDR Maguire if you don't see them in your inbox.
