Pasco Deputies Looking For Attempted Kidnapping Suspect
Deputies say the Brooksville man put a plastic bag over a Hudson woman's head Tuesday night.

HUDSON, FL — The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is asking Tampa Bay area residents to be on the lookout for a man it is looking for in connection with a Tuesday night attempted kidnapping.
According to the agency, a 33-year-old Hudson woman was inside her home around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday when one of her roommates received a bite from the family dog. The victim called Jason Cheladyn, 44, of Brooksville to take the roommate to the hospital, an email from the sheriff’s office said.
While they were waiting for Cheladyn to arrive, the roommate found a different way to the hospital and left, the sheriff’s office said.

When Cheladyn arrived, the victim got into his red Hyundai four-door sedan in front of her home. At that point, the sheriff’s office said Cheladyn asked the woman if she wanted to smoke marijuana, but she refused.
“As the victim turned towards the door to exit the Hyundai, Cheladyn placed a clear plastic bag over the victim’s head and attempted to keep her in the vehicle,” the email said. “The victim fought back and was able to escape the moving vehicle.”

The woman then called deputies, who subsequently obtained arrest warrants for false imprisonment and simple battery.
The sheriff’s office said Cheladyn’s Hyundai has the Florida tag number of BPSP50.
Anyone with information about Cheladyn’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 727-847-8102.
The woman’s name and other details are not being released at this time.
