Pasco Sheriff's Deputy's Gun Stolen From Burger King Bathroom

The Pasco Sheriff's Office is searching for the person who stole a deputy's gun that was accidentally left in the bathroom at Burger King.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is searching for the person who stole a Pasco County Sheriff's deputy's service weapon that was accidentally left in a bathroom at Burger King.

According to sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll, the deputy took off the holster holding the gun to use the restroom at Burger King, 6319 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey shortly after 11 a.m. Friday, June 8. When the deputy left the restroom, he forgot to retrieve the gun.

Between 11:29 a.m. and 12:16 p.m., someone entered the bathroom and took the handgun. A person of interest was captured on Burger King's surveillance video. He is described as a white man wearing a light-colored sleeveless shirt, black shorts, hiking sneakers, a light-colored hat, sunglasses and carrying a dark backpack.
