Update: Port Richey Man Dies in 1-Car Crash

Update Oct. 20, 10:20 a.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol has identified the man in Monday morning’s crash as Paul J. Kane.

Earlier:

A 61-year-old Port Richey man is dead following a single-car crash on Ridge Road Monday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2005 Ford Focus was head west in the outside lane of Ridge Road, west of Lemon Road, in the outside lane. The driver lost control and entered the north shoulder of Ridge Road, crossed a ditch and struck a utility pole at the entrance to a private driveway.

The driver, who has not yet been identified, suffered fatal injuries and died at the crash scene.
