Gov. Scott Orders Security Changes for Florida National Guard
All recruiting activities will move into armories.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott has issued an executive order that requires the relocation of all Florida National Guard personnel assigned to the state’s six storefront recruitment centers to move into armories.
The order, issued Saturday, comes in the wake of a deadly Thursday shooting spree in Chattanooga, Tenn., that left four Marines dead and later claimed the life of a Navy sailor. The apparent shooter in that case, Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, was also killed.
Scott’s order also calls for discussions with local law enforcement agencies to arrange regular security checks for Florida National Guard Armories and to ensure that “all qualified full-time guardsmen are adequately armed for their personal protection.”
