Dade City Man Accused Of Assaulting Neighbor With Tractor, Log

A Dade City man has been accused of ramming his tractor into a neighbor's tractor, dropping a 10-foot log on him and then beating him.

DADE CITY, FL —Pasco County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a 46-year-old Dade City man after he was accused of ramming his tractor into a neighbor's tractor, dropping a 10-foot log on him and then beating him.

According to the sheriff's office, a Dade City man was removing a log from the easement beside his home with a tractor on Thursday when Charles K. Jerkins of Puckett Road began driving his own tractor toward his neighbor with a log on the front of it.

Deputies said Jerkins drove his tractor into his neighbor's tractor and dropped the log on his neighbor's legs. When the neighbor fell off his tractor, deputies said Jerkins pounced on him and began striking him in the face, causing his nose and mouth to bleed.

Bystanders then pushed Jerkins off his neighbor and called the sheriff's office.

Jerkins was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where his bond was set at $10,000.
