Sheriff Decries Former Employee's Snapchat Video About Protests
Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco has condemned comments made by a former detention deputy complaining about the protesters.

PASCO COUNTY, FL — Describing her comments as "reprehensible," Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco is condemning comments made by a former detention deputy on social media in which she complains about those protesting the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
"Let me be clear; this video is appalling," said Nocco of the Snapchat video in which Katy Anello is driving in her car, while videotaping herself talking about the protests.
The video was sent to media outlets via Twitter by a person describing himself as a member of Black Lives Matter Tampa, which has organized several of the demonstrations. The time stamp on the video indicates it was posted on Sunday.

In the video, which has gotten 55,000 views on Twitter, Anello threatens to shoot any protesters who she feels are a danger to her.
In the video in which Anello makes liberal use of profanity, she tells protesters to "shut up," adding, "We're in f--cking America, b--tch. We're not in f--cking Iraq or Iran where we're constantly fighting for our f--cking lives so stop acting like f--cking terrorists."

Patch was unable to locate the original Snapchat video or find any contact information for Anello, who reportedly was living in Spring Hill at the time of her employment with the sheriff's office.
Nocco, however, confirmed that she worked for the detention department for about two months and left her job more than a year ago.
It is clear she does not represent the values of the PSO," said Nocco in a statement. "Every day our members work hard to protect and unify our community, and we will not allow anyone to destroy what we have built."
