Sheriff: New Port Richey Man Steals Truck, Then Takes Nap In it

A 22-year-old man was arrested for auto theft after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies discovered him snoozing in a stolen pickup truck.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL -- A 22-year-old New Port Richey man was arrested for auto theft after Pasco County Sheriff's deputies discovered him snoozing in a stolen pickup truck.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle on Shady Acres Boulevard in New Port Richey. When they called in the tag number of the Dodge Ram 1500, they discovered it had been stolen from its owner in Pinellas County on Nov. 8. The owner of the pickup truck named a former employee, Justin Macedonio, as a suspect in the theft.

Macedonio wasn't hard to track down. When deputies approached the pickup truck, they found him taking a nap inside.

He was taken to the Land O' Lakes Detention Center where bond was set at $5,000.
