Spring Hill Man Killed In Accident On State Road 54

TRINITY, FL — A 58-year-old Spring Hill man has died following an accident at State Road 54 and Black Lake Road Monday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 12:06 p.m., Timothy Johns was driving a Chevrolet Express east on State Road 54, west of Black Lake Road, when he appeared to have had a medical episode that caused him the pass out.

He was seen weaving in between lanes, driving onto the center median and then heading west at a slow speed in the eastbound lanes of S.R. 54.

Two drivers pulled over to try to assist Johns but Johns continued on, striking other vehicles before driving off the road into a barbed wire fence and coming to a stop in a field.

Johns was taken to Medical Center of Trinity where he was pronounced dead.

Dina Aziz, 33, of Trinity was driving one of the cars Johns struck and was treated for minor injuries.
