Tax Collector Mike Fasano to Feature "End Breast Cancer" Specialty Tag in October

During the month of October Tax Collector Mike Fasano is partnering with the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation to help "End Breast Cancer."

During the month of October Pasco County Tax Collector Mike Fasano’s five offices will be partnering with the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation to help raise awareness of breast cancer, its symptoms and treatments. October, which is national Breast Cancer Awareness Month, is the time of year when people throughout the country will learn more about a disease that is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Florida (excluding skin cancer). It is estimated that about 12,000 new cases will be diagnosed within the next twelve months.

The five branches of the Pasco County Tax Collectors Office will be promoting the End Breast Cancer license specialty license plate throughout the month of October. Historically, sales of this plate have raised over $4 million dollars to provide research and education grants throughout the state in an effort to find the most effective ways to detect and treat breast cancer.

“Each month our office chooses a charitable organization to highlight to help raise funds and awareness of their mission,” Tax Collector Mike Fasano states. “In October we are proud to help shine a spotlight on the needs of breast cancer patients in the hopes that this disease will one day be cured. The proceeds from the sale of this plate will go a long way towards ending a disease that afflicts so many women both locally and nationwide.”

Individuals who have automobile registration renewals coming due in October may choose to trade in their regular license plate for the End Breast Cancer specialty tag. Customers may also purchase the tag for newly registered vehicles.
