Troopers: Holiday Hit-And-Run Driver May Have Been in a Red BMW
The Florida Highway Patrol is trying to find out who struck and killed a pedestrian on U.S. 19 Wednesday morning.

A 49-year-old Spring Hill man is dead following a hit-and-run on U.S. 19 and Mile Stretch Drive Wednesday morning.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a vehicle was driving southbound on U.S. 19 around 1:20 a.m. when the crash happened. The pedestrian was walking west across U.S. 19 south of Mile Stretch Drive. The pedestrian, a highway patrol report says, walked into the path of the vehicle.
That vehicle’s driver fled the scene.

The pedestrian, Gary Alan Hetman, died at the crash site.
After combing the area, Troopers found an outside mirror that belongs to a red BMW. They say it could be part of the suspect vehicle.
