Uber Driver Suspected Of Kidnapping Cooperating With Sheriff
Deputies say they have located an Uber driver who was suspected of kidnapping after a passenger reported a person hidden beneath a blanket.

NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Pasco County deputies say they have located an Uber driver who was suspected of kidnapping after a passenger called 911 to report a person hidden beneath a blanket in the back seat of the driver's car.
At 7:10 a.m. Wednesday morning, an Uber customer got into a silver 2021 Honda Accord along Trinity Boulevard in New Port Richey where the passenger saw a struggle between the Uber driver and a person who was hidden under a blanket in the back seat.
The passenger immediately got out of the car and took a photo of the car's license plate before calling 911.

The sheriff's office classified the incident as a possible kidnapping and began searching for the driver. Investigators used the license plate number photographed by the passenger to identify the driver as John Geary. They located him around 10 p.m. and said he is cooperating with investigators.
Detectives are still investigating the incident witnessed by the Uber passenger but said Geary has not been arrested.
