Victim Shot Intruder Multiple Times, Deputies Say

The incident took place in Moon Lake Thursday morning.

While details in Thursday morning’s shooting in Moon Lake are still coming in, Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies say it looks like a case of a victim turning the tables on an intruder.

According to preliminary information released by the sheriff’s office, a man broke into Michael Farrell’s 12018 Ember Ave. home around 1:19 a.m. The intruder attacked Farrell, 55, who pulled out a gun and fired, shooting his attacker multiple times.

When deputies arrived at the home, they found Chris Wehunt, 35, suffering from gunshot wounds and had him transported to a local hospital. Wehunt’s injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening, the sheriff’s office wrote in an email to media.
