School Nurse Killed in Florida Hospital Tampa Shooting
The Pasco County School District employee was shot and killed by her step-father in an apparent murder-suicide, Hillsborough deputies say.

Two people are dead in what the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is reporting is an apparent murder-suicide.
According to the agency, the incident occurred just after 7 a.m. at Florida Hospital Tampa, 3100 E. Fletcher Ave. Deputies say Steven Eugene Reynolds, 70, of Dade City, and Alonna Tedesco, 41, were visiting a family member at the time.
At 7:01 a.m., Reynolds, an email from the sheriff’s office said, pulled out a gun and shot Tedesco before shooting himself inside a room on the hospital’s third floor. Reynolds, the email said, is Tedesco’s step-father.

Alonna Tedesco was the school nurse for Hudson Middle and High Schools in Pasco County. She served in that capacity since August, the Pasco County School District reported after the shooting.
“As much as this tragedy saddens the Pasco County Schools family, it also affects Mrs. Browning and me personally,” said Superintendent Kurt S. Browning. “We have known Alonna for many years and are shocked to learn of her horrific passing. She was a good friend and a talented professional. Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends and family.”
