A 36-year-old Brooksville man is dead following a crash on Interstate 75 just north of State Road 56.
The Florida Highway Patrol says Charles Hostetter, Jr., was heading southbound on I-75 in the outside lane around 6:30 a.m. as two semis were traveling in the same direction in the center lane. One of those trucks was towing a “low-boy” trailer at the time.
Hostetter attempted to move into the center lane and struck the right rear of the trailer being towed by the semi. The impact caused Hostetter’s vehicle to rotate and collide with the other semi.
