Step out for a night on the town as the Tampa Bay Association of Black Journalists honors area media outlets that have excelled at covering people of color and presents college scholarships to minority student journalists. Guest speaker is Pulitzer-winning columnist Leonard Pitts Jr. of the Miami Herald. Emcee is WFLA News Channel 8 Anchor Rod Carter. The 6 p.m. cocktail hour will showcase works by local photographers. Dinner and the awards ceremony start at 7 p.m. The evening will include a posthumous tribute to community leader and radio show host Jetie B. Wilds Jr.
