5 Things to Know About the School Week (Nov. 6-11)
Here are some items from New Tampa school calendars.
1. Leading up to its Veteran’s Day celebration on Nov. 10, Pride Elementary School is collecting donations of candy for U.S. troops stationed overseas. Walgreen is mailing out the sweets.
“All you have to do is send in your left over candy with your child or bring it the day of the Veteran’s Celebration and deposit the candy in our drop off bins before the celebration begins,” Pride PTA writes on its website. “Several drop boxes will be located outside the cafeteria and one will be in the walkway of the 3rd/5th grade building.”
2. Chiles Elementary School is looking for lunchroom volunteers, according to its website. Opportunities are available for parents to come in anytime between 10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. each day. 3. Clark Elementary School is holding its parent-teacher conference night on Thursday, Nov. 10.
4. Turner Elementary School has scheduled its fifth-grade music performance for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. The school is at 9190 Imperial Oak Blvd.

5. Bartels Middle School is holding an informational meeting 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, for its upcoming production of “Larceny and Old Lace."
