Athlete Spotlight: Caci Andreychuk of Wharton's Lady Wildcats Volleyball Team
Patch spotlights this senior outside hitter.
The Wharton Lady Wildcats are having a tremendous year. With just a few regular season matches left on the slate, the Cats are a whopping 11-2, their only losses coming at the hands of and Steinbrenner.
Last year the Cats were 9-8 and were bounced in the first round of the district tournament. This year, their aspirations are higher, much higher.
This is likely thanks in part to the development of junior hitter Caci Andreychuck. Andreychuk is everything you would want in an outside hitter, head coach Eric Barber said.

"She's a gifted player, great athlete, a power hitter, but what's best about Caci is her mental toughness," he said.
The mental toughness is something that Barber said has significantly improved this year. Andreychuk also brings lots of firepower to the table.

She stands about 5 feet, 11 inches tall (maybe 6 feet), has long arms and a good vertical leap. She's a born hitter, obviously, but the power and drive she gets on her spikes is a sight to see.
It stems from years of experience. Andreychuk learned from 2009 Wharton graduate Molly Dalachery, whom she credits with getting her involved in the sport. Andreychuk also honed her skills playing club volleyball for Tampa United.
This season she hopes to lead the Lady Wildcats deep into the playoffs. Her philosophy?
"Leave it all on the court. Learn to brush off mistakes," she said.
