Authorities Identify Woman Found in Pond

Authorities have identified the name of the dead woman found in a pond Friday at as Alex Paish.

Paish, 24, lived in the apartment complex where the incident occurred, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

Patch has been unable to reach family members of Paish, but an obituary from the MacDonald Funeral Home said she "loved animals and had aspirations of become a veterinarian." She also looked forward to having children of her own.

Deputies responded to Ashton Park Apartments, at East Bearss Avenue and North 22nd Street, shortly after 9:30 a.m. on Friday in response to a body seen in a pond in front of the complex.

Divers recovered Paish's body and turned it over to the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office. Authorities are still determining what happened to Pais.
