An invitation to join me at the car & truck show at The Shops at Wiregrass

As the resident “car guy” on this site, I am extending an invitation to you.

I invite you to join me at “Crusin’ at Wiregrass,” a free car and truck show, this Saturday, July 9^th at The Shops at Wiregrass Mall.

The show starts at 3:00 p.m. and runs to 8:00 p.m. The event is free of charge to both the spectators and participants. It’s hard to beat ‘FREE’ in today’s economy. 

The Shops at Wiregrass has hosted several of these car & truck shows, and I have participated in quite a few. It is with this firsthand knowledge that I can say, “This is truly an event that the entire family can enjoy. “   

The open air mall makes for a unique setting, with all the cars lining both sides of the street. I have to say it gives me that small town, downtown atmosphere.

If you enjoy checking out classic, muscle, antique, street rods, tuners, traditional, kustom cars and trucks, you will have plenty to see. At the most recent show, held in April, 200-plus cars and trucks were on display. 

There is no doubt in my mind that you will find a car and truck that will get your attention.         

If cars aren’t your thing, there is live music. Crystal Blue will be playing from 5-9 p.m.

Of course there is plenty of shopping.

Guys, here is a perfect opportunity to be Dad, Husband, or Boyfriend of the week. Saturday afternoon, gather up the family, wife, girlfriend and kids, and say “You know what I want to do this afternoon? Go to the mall”! After the stunned silence wears off, get them into your car and head to the mall. When you get there, act surprised and say …”WOW a Car Show, who knew?”  The key to your success is delivering that last statement like you are completely and totally surprised. Tell the wife and kids “Go shopping, enjoy, TAKE YOUR TIME!”  It will give you more time to admire all that beautiful DETROIT ROLLING IRON.

Make a night of it, and have dinner or drinks at one of the several restaurants or bars at Wiregrass.

For the car owners, this is a judged show with awards for overall Best of Show and top six in ten classes. Click on the links below for more info.
