Life Through a Lens, And So It Begins

Hello and welcome to my little corner of Patch! I’ll kick things off with the obligatory intro post, but I promise it won’t be all me, me, me, all the time.

My crazy, chaotic and awesome family just moved here from Northern Virginia (boy is the weather here terrible ;) ). Our cast of characters includes three energetic girls, my husband who by day is in IT, by night races motorcycles, a boy and two dogs. Generally they are well behaved but have been known to cause a scene or two at the local restaurants or Target. (Remind me to tell you about the time my two-year-old spent our entire Target trip yelling “Mommy you smell like poop” because I made her ride in the cart.  She would finish by laughing hysterically when anyone looked over.)

So if you are out and about and hear a ruckus, it may or may not be my zoo acting out while my husband and I pretend we can still enjoy a hot meal, so apologies in advance.

I hope that my words and photos inspire you, ignite a love of photography or maybe just bring on a smile.

Being new to the area, there is so much to discover, playing tourist and of course bringing my camera along for the ride. Photo tips, things to do with kids, the wonderfully messy circus of being a mommy, that’s where we’ll be starting, and who knows where we’ll end up.
