Social Media for Small Business - Do YOU Tweet? YOU SHOULD!!

Do you tweet?  You should!!!  
Here are some beginner tips to make twitter work for you!
First and foremost, you MUST get followers....those are the people who will see your tweets. Engage your customers on your Facebook and web pages, and PLEASE make it easy for them by providing a link or button directly to your twitter account.

OK...I have followers...now what???

#1 - Timing is everything!  Just like with your Facebook posts...WHEN you tweet is just as important and WHAT you tweet!  The latest data suggests that twitter is most a flutter with users from 9am to 11am.  The tweeting picks up again from 1pm - 3pm, and again from 5pm - 6pm.  

#2 - What do I say...or tweet?  That is easy!  You know what to say....something GREAT about your business or product.  Something funny or engaging...you want people to "get to know you".  Keep it professional and fun.

#3 - KEEP THE CONVERSTATION GOING!!  Just keep tweeting....Just keep tweeting...YEP, it's just the opposite of Facebook rules, as if twitter wasn't confusing enough.  You must tweet...and tweet often!!  THANK your new followers - retweet info you find interesting, and don't forget to comment when others mention you in a tweet!  This is SOCIAL media...so BE SOCIAL!!!

#4 - Tweet EVERY Day - YEP!  Every single day...MOST Importantly Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!  Our data shows that tweets and links get more attention at the end of the week and on the weekend!  Our data here at Kares Kommunications suggests that you MUST tweet AT LEAST 5 times per day to make twitter work for you, but DO NOT rapid fire all 5 in the 5pm-6pm or 9am - 11am time frame.  They must be equally spread through out the day.
