Teen Involved in Underage Sex

The parents and supporters of Kaitlyn Hunt must not prey upon their emotions but realize a child molestation law has been broken. Take the plea bargain.

I will not get into a long legal dissertation regarding the Kaitlyn Hunt story  except to ask those who are so readily to have the prosecutor drop these charges.

Why? It doesn't matter if the perpetrator is 18 or 48. The law has been broken. For those who say her whole life is ruined, well she should have thought about that before committing this crime. Who's to say she won't do this in the future when she's older and still preying on younger victims.

If you let her get away with this then you're condoning all sexual predators and you might as well put up a sign that says, "Welcome to Indian River County, Florida-- Home for Sex Predators." Would these supporters feel the same way if this woman violated one of their younger children? I think not!!

They should be ashamed of themselves for trying to get this woman off. Let her take the plea bargain and to her parents, I ask "Would you also feel the same way if your daughter had been violated when she was younger? Would you be so readily willing to dismiss the charges if it did happen even though your daughter consented to it?" I don't think so.

Please don't insult our intelligence by saying you were to naive that you didn't understand when your daughter told you she was having a dating relationship with another girl. Would these same supporters and parents feel the same way if the predator were a teacher? a coach? a male over the age of 18? Don't think so.

It's not about being gay; it's about the law being broken. Take the plea deal and have your daughter seek professional treatment before she performs this crime on another underage girl. Think about it.

Lastly, Mr. Prosecutor, please do not succumb to the pressure these people are bring upon you. Do the right thing. Uphold the law. You can do with this as you may but I'm sure there are a lot more people in Indian River County and around the country who feel the same way as I do, who far outnumber the 150,000 supposed supporters for this young lady. Thank you.
